UNESCO, WORLD HERITAGE SITES OF INDIA
UNESCO UNESCO MEANS the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. The Constitution was signed on 16 November 1945 but it came into force on 4 November 1946. The first session of the General Conference was held in Paris from 19 November to 10 December 1946. It was attended by representatives of 30 countries. Most of its regional offices are in the form of clusters, it has national and regional offices. It has 27 cluster offices and 21 national offices. At present the total number of member states is 195. UNESCO Purpose is to promote international peace, development and relations through the promotion of education, culture and science. It has a general assembly every two years which includes all member states and observer countries. India is a member country of since 1946.
